Israel has announced that it has attacked the country in support of the Druze minority against Syrian government forces and will continue the attacks until the complete destruction of the government forces that have attacked the minority.
"We are rejecting any attempt to bring you to a foreign power," said Ahmed Shari'a, the head of the Syrian government, in the first speech after Israel's deadly air strikes to Damascus.
"We are not afraid of war," Mr. Shari'ah added. "We have spent our lives confronting the challenges and defending the people, but we prefer the interests of the Syrian nation over chaos and destruction."
She emphasized that the Syrian people are not afraid of war and would be ready for battle if their dignity is threatened.
